Burgo- Evelyn K., 95 of Westmont, died, February 1, 2012.

Born August 13, 1916 in Windber. She is the daughter of Charles and Clara (Solomon) Katter.  Preceded in death by her parents, sister Olive Katter, Agatha Katter, and Clara Minahan.  Survived by children Michael, and Peter married to Pamela, grandchildren; Nathan, Hannah, Emma, and Jonathan, Brother Dr. George Katter and nieces and nephews; Ellen Katter Regner, Charles Katter, Joseph Katter, Francesca Romanos, Stephen Katter, John Katter, Matthew Minahan, Mary Minahan, Anne Brown, Paula Minahan, Thomas Minahan, Clarie Wrisley and Felice Goodwin.

Mrs. Burgo was pivotal in drafting and delivering the first contract for the United Steelworkers Union in 1942.  Evelyn taught English, Latin and German at Greater Johnstown School District.  In her retirement she was an accomplished Seamstress.

Friends received 6-8 PM, Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.  Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Very Rev. Mark. S. Begly. Internment Grandview Cemetery at a later date.
